Gift Aid - UK Donations

Gift Aid is a scheme used by charities and donors to reclaim tax on charitable donations. This means if you are a UK tax payer, Sethani UK can reclaim tax on your recorded donations. For each £1 you give, we currently receive an extra 28p through Gift Aid.

Because of the need to identify your gift, please complete our Gift Aid declaration form and send your donation in one of the following ways:

• by banker's standing order

• internet banking transfer

• by cheque (payable to Sethani UK, please e-mail uk@sethani.org for details)

It is essential that the name on the cheque and the Gift Aid declaration are identical.  In the case of joint bank accounts, please ensure that the person signing the cheque also completes the Gift Aid declaration.

To avoid any tax liability due to this declaration, the tax you pay on income and/ or capital gains must not be less than the tax that we reclaim on your donation in the tax year.

If you pay tax at the higher rate, you can claim further tax relief in your Self Assessment tax return.

Please notify us if you change your name or address or if you no longer pay an amount of income tax or capital gains tax equal to the tax we reclaim on your donation (currently 28p for every £1 you give).
